The Indian city of Bangalore is the capital of India’s southern Karnataka state. Its the center of India’s high-tech industry but also has wild leopards living in it’s outskirts. A leopard wandered into the Vibgyor International School on Sunday, February 9, 2016. Six people were attacked including a scientist, a forestry employee and a TV camera man, although the injuries were reportedly minor. It took 10 hours to tranquilize and capture the leopard.
The closest thing people in the United States have to this situation is when wild mountain lions occasionally wander into towns. However, there have also been jaguars spotted recently in the Arizona wilderness. Although once plentiful in the US, they were thought to have been eliminated but are making their way back into the US via Mexico. Jaguars are the third-largest big cat after tigers and the lions.
